    GIVE H.O.P.E.

The Church of St. Joseph & the Mothers’ Club of St. Joseph School support

HELP OUR PEOPLE EAT (H.O.P.E.)!

H.O.P.E. is now the largest emergency food program in Westchester County. Since its founding in 1984 it continues to strive to meet the needs of its community with warmth and respect.

The St. Joseph's community will cook and collect food on the 1st and 4th Wednesday of each month. These meals help feed approximately 200 people at each distribution.

The outreach calendar for this year will span from September 24, 2025 through June 3, 2026.

πŸ™ CHEFS: Individuals or families that can cook meals at home and commit to Group 1 (1st Wednesday of the Month) and/or Group 2 (4th Wednesday of the Month). See below for more specific details regarding meal preparation.

πŸ™ DRIVERS: One volunteer with an empty SUV (no passengers) to pick up and deliver food. Pick up is at 1:00 PM from the vestibule of St. Joseph Church (accessed via the Kraft Avenue entrance) on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

πŸ™ DOOR VOLUNTEERS: Help supervise the coolers in 1.5-2 hour shifts between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of the month. The coolers will be in the vestibule of St. Joseph Church (accessed via the Kraft Avenue entrance).

 MEAL PREP NOTES:

πŸ™ RECIPES: Click here for the H.O.P.E. Schedule 25-26 and the H.O.P.E. Recipes 25-26 for this year. Use of these recipes is optional, but encouraged, as they help maintain consistency in the meals we provide. The food will be reheated in batches in a commercial kitchen. If you are preparing an entree, we ask that you also include 2 bags of frozen vegetables.

πŸ™ SHOPPING: If you come across a great deal on ground beef or chicken, please let us know. We would be happy to share that information with the other "Chef" volunteers!

πŸ™ STORAGE: Please place all cooked food in gallon-size zipper-lock plastic bags. Kindly do not mix meats with rice or noodles in the same bag.

πŸ™
DROP OFF: Food should be dropped off between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Note that 1:00 PM is a new time for 25-26. The coolers will be in the vestibule of St. Joseph Church (accessed via the Kraft Avenue entrance). Please keep an eye on your inbox for any updates or changes to the schedule.
