MARCH 2026:
BETH LAVOIE
During the season of Lent, we are all called to reflect on Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).
This passage serves as a reminder that when the members of the Mothers’ Club of St. Joseph School (MCSJS) root their efforts in faith, they can truly move mountains. A shining example of this approach and commitment is Beth Lavoie. In fact, Beth views her volunteer service in the MCSJS as another step in her faith journey.
Prior to being blessed with her son, Beth dedicated over twenty years of her adult life to ministry in her Parishes - both in Manhattan and here in Bronxville. Whether being an altar server, or a sponsor for RCIA candidates, or a religious education teacher, Beth has put her faith and family first in life. A fun fact, fitting for the month of March, is that on one of her pilgrimages, Beth went to Ireland. While there, she climbed the 2,507 foot Croagh Patrick, known as “Ireland’s Holy Mountain.”
Beth continues to commit herself to service that intersects with her faith. She chose to be Class Parent when her son was in Second Grade so she could be part of the preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion. Since then, Beth has stepped up to lead the Mothers’ Mass & Brunch, in addition to many of her other roles as both Event Chairs and a leader on the MCSJS Executive Board.
Thank you, Beth, for sharing your story that will give us all time to consider our own faith journeys and renew our commitment to charity. Through this exercise, we can come closer together as a community and strengthen our own personal relationship with God.
